I will post more about this later, guess what? I took a lot of pictures!!!
This is my first few steps on the great Pacific Crest Trail. This trail reaches from Mexico to Canada and is over 2K miles long. It runs through 25 national forests! This hike was straight up, not sure of the mileage. I’d say four? Like I said… baby steps.
Pacific Crest Highway is where I saw the bear cub this summer! How exciting to go hiking there. Love your sun shade hat thing, Kim.
OH wow okay. That makes since. It was exciting, and thank you, its comfy and keeps the hair and sun out of my face. 🙂
Wow, Kim! Amazing and incredible venture into the 9 mile trail. You must be very fit and healthy because of the daring walks. 🙂
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! 😀 I am trying, being diabetic I really learned I have to watch the sugar on these hikes. If it’s too high my muscles burn, too low and I start to shake. I started out last year by only being able to walk a city block. Now up to 9 miles. Next week we are going to go on a 15 mile, but might stay over night.
Woow, Kim …. You’ve set a big goal
Thank you Vidocka, this was about 9 miles, there and back.
I say slowly but surely – once you have to start … a little picture
Yes, Lado, that is the key. Dont want sore muscles. lol I still have to work.
WOW, how long will that takes?
Sounds like a large distance to cover.
For the thru hikers, they start in the late winter early spring on the Mexican border, if you hike straight thru, it takes most hikers 8 months from Mexico to Canada. We did 8 miles this day, and with an elevation gain of 800 feet.
Pardon my stupidity but then you have to overnight there? Like in the mountains? Camping?
For eight months yes. 🙂 I will be just doing what they call section hiking, just parts at a time.
Oh my, does sounds fun but a bit too adventurous for me!!
I hope you enjoy your journey and share with us 🙂
