“Heaven bird”

Strelitzia successfully grows and blooms in the Mediterranean.

It is an unsteady shrub that reaches a height of 1 – 2 meters.

Colors have a unique shape and are in blue and orange. They come straight from the base of the plant, from a boat-shaped sheet of red.

The stems are in the form of a vane, elongated.

In translation from German, the name of the plant is a “bird of paradise” due to the shape of the flower that resembles the bird head.

Like most lush and bright plants, his native land is South Africa.

It was first presented to European gardeners in the distant 1773 as part of a large shipment to King George III’s Royal Botanic Garden. His wife was queen (lat. Reginae) Charlotte Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
