Was outside watering the flowers today and spotted this rare Clear Wing Hummingbird Moth on my Butterfly Bush. I always have my camera in my pocket and took a quick shot before he flew away. If you have never seen one they are sometimes mistaken for a Hummingbird. But if you look closer you will see the difference. This moth has clear wings and is considered an insect. And you can get closer to them than the Hummingbird. You still have to be quick with the camera. I hope to see him again. This is only the second one I have ever seen. Keep your eyes open and your camera handy while outdoors. You never know what you might see.

I rarely bring a camera in gardening activities, unless it is intended. But your suggestion is good, so we are always ready with the wonderful moments that need to be caught and stored. Thank you for your inspiration.
I learned this the hard way after missing so many good shots. One of my cameras is a small pocket size ideal for this! Thank you Albert.

We too have bird sized moths but I’ve never seen a glass winged moth. Didn’t even know there was such a critter.
