I live in southern Mississippi not too far from the Louisiana state line on the section where Louisiana looks like the toe of the boot. We have pretty mild weather here compared to up north most of the year.
We are getting ready for a cold front that is moving through the state tonight and tomorrow that will leave us with temperatures in low 40’s. That’s not too bad, but another front is right behind this one. It will be bringing in some harsh cold weather for us. Our lows will dip into the mid to upper 20’s Wednesday night. I’m NOT looking forwards to this weather event.
How is the weather in your area right now? Are you experiencing severe cold weather yet? The cold is bad enough, and these fronts usually arrive with some preliminary rain. The rain and the cold mixed really leave us southerners with a chill. Then we are left with a dampness from all the rain and humidity. I’m not looking forward to this cold and gloomy winter.
In case you haven’t guessed it yet, I’m not a winter or cold weather person! Do you love cold weather? Or do you prefer warm and sunny weather like me?

We are in anticipation of winter so we have cold and rainy weather.
Winter is here for us and very early for the south. We normally don’t have temperatures in the 20’s until January or February. Not this year, it hit in November!
Here it is getting colder every day.
Yes, the same here. We did get lucky with a warm week this week, but another front arrives on Friday night so back to bitter cold again.
we are on the cusp (it arrives for us tonight). they said the s word (Snow).
We woke up to light rain, sleet and snow mixture this morning. Uggg. At least I don’t have to go anywhere. My hubby has about 250 miles to drive today for work. He has a training class at the range and I bet most people cancel due to the weather.
i understand that – we are supposed to get snow end of the day today but no accumulation!
For us the accumulation is the only way to enjoy snow. But it normally doesn’t snow here with any accumulation. The year before last was the exception to that rule where we had 3 snows with up to 6 inches. A rarity indeed!
we got a total of 5 inches of snow over 6 storms (two dustings, one was 3 inches the other two were around an inch each)
We have no extreme weather. Anything is welcome.
I’m not sure where you live, but if no extremes hot or cold — that sounds pretty good to me.
I prefer cold weather to hot – at least when it is cold you can wear extra clothing, but there is little you can do when it is excessively warm.
You wear thin clothing or little clothing. I’m happy in shorts and a tank top during the summer. I hate bulky clothing too! I’ll take summer vs. winter anyday, anytime over this cold stuff.
