A huge number of people have heard the biblical story of David and Goliath. This occurred when David was still a boy, long before he became the king of Israel. Goliath was a seasoned warrior who also happened to be a giant and he was defeated in combat by the boy who first knocked him unconscious with a pebble thrown using a sling, then used the giant’s own sword to kill Goliath by chopping off his head.
While this is an interesting story, it becomes even more astonishing when it is considered that the average height of people then was considerably less than it is today. As a boy, David probably wasn’t very tall; perhaps between four feet and five feet. The same couldn’t be said of Goliath. Depending on how it is figured, Goliath’s height is estimated at between 9 and 12 feet. He is widely accepted to have been 9 feet 9 inches tall. That is two to three times the height of the ‘average’ full-grown man at the time.
Many people have relegated the story to being nothing but a fanciful myth. However, there is evidence that it was not a myth at all.
Modern giants
In today’s world, a height of seven feet isn’t extraordinary. Legendary basketball player, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar stands 7 feet 2 inches tall, and he isn’t the tallest. Yao Ming, basketball player for the Houston Rockets is 7 feet 6 inches.
There are many basketball and football players that are from just under seven feet tall to just over that height. There are also people of this height who don’t play sports.
According to the Guinness Book of World records, the tallest man they have a record of was Robert Wadlow, who stood 8 feet 11 inches tall. Mr. Wadlow passed away in 1940, so it is easy to see that there are still individuals who are extremely tall.
Back to Goliath
The question can be asked, “Where did Goliath come from?” The Bible explains that when Satan and the third of the angels who chose to follow him were cast out of heaven and onto the earth, they fathered children with human females. It should be remembered that the description of angels indicated that these are exceptionally large and tall beings, so offspring would most likely take on this trait.
The race that came about by that union were called Nephilim. There are several biblical references to the Nephilim and there was little doubt that Goliath was a member of that race, as were his brothers.
In fact, the Nephilim lived in Canaan and elsewhere. The Nephilim were particularly fierce warriors and they were cannibalistic, though the Israelites drove them out of the area.
Some people have questioned how the giants survived the great flood of Noah. This isn’t particularly surprising, either. Noah and his sons survived, and with those sons were their wives. It is not only conceivable but likely that one or more of the wives carried the genes of the giants, though she might not have exhibited any signs of being a giant.
Suppression of the truth about Giants
None of the above is really hidden and the information can be found with just a little research. However, for some reason, the truth about giants has been intentionally withheld for centuries.
As it turns out, there are many reports of skeletons that have been discovered, worldwide, that range anywhere from 7 to 25 feet from the feet to the top of the skull. When we say ‘many’, we mean it. It isn’t just dozens of reports, photographs, and other verified data. There are thousands of such documented discoveries.
The skeletons have been found throughout the US, Russia, China, Egypt and the Middle East, South America, Sardinia, Africa, Europe in general, the UK; virtually everywhere that there has been an old civilization.
Many giant skeletons that have been found in the US in places such as California, the Ohio Valley, the Northeast, and the Grand Canyon, have been sent to the Smithsonian for analysis. Nothing has been heard about those skeletons, ever since.
Others in other parts of the world have been sent to area churches, where they seem to vanish with the same frequency. Not all have been complete skeletons, to be sure. Giant skulls that are far larger than a normal human’s skull, leg bones, and other bones have been discovered and have disappeared.
Thankfully, there have been written reports, photographs, newspaper accounts, and the like that show that the giant skeletons have been found and positively identified. Efforts to debunk the reports have repeatedly failed, though there are naturally a few hoaxes that have been uncovered. Still, doubters cannot debunk many thousands of such discoveries from all over the world and the huge amount of written reports that have been made.
A bigger question could be why has there been such effort expended to cover up the evidence for a race of giants? There is little doubt that they existed, despite those efforts, and aside from further validating the Bible, it is hard to imagine that much could be accomplished by covering up the truth.
Still, the existence of giants is deemed a fanciful myth, though, despite proof to the contrary. The fact is that the genes that gave rise to the race of giants probably are still incorporated within the gene-pool of humans today. At least it would go a long way toward explaining why the propensity over the last century or two has been for people to be far taller than people who lived only a few hundred years ago. That is a trend that continues, too.
For that matter, at a bit over 6 feet 3 inches tall, I would have been considered extraordinarily tall five hundred years ago. Yet, in our small town of a thousand, there are several people who are a number of inches taller than I am and I would right now be considered to be of average height. I would be dwarfed by giants. It makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
Very interesting. Indeed there are still people that lived and lives among us that are considered giants.
Yes, there are. Too often this fact is ignored because it doesn’t fit a particular agenda or another.
Us being a giant is great and all. But alas, it has its downsides from what we’ve seen and learned.

As far as I know, angels were asexual beings. So how would they mate with humans? Its a mystery.
Most people think a comet could have caused the Ice Age or the end of it. But I think it was something else. If seen in context of what happened to other planets in the solar system, to planets like Mars, and the bizarre rotation of the planets, I think something much bigger than a comet entered our solar system. It affected Mars, almost tearing the planet apart. Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus all have funny rotations, and Venus spins in the opposite direction(I stand to be corrected here)
A comet won’t cause that -but a fragment of a star, or something of very higher density and gravitation, if it raced through our star system would have caused havoc. The powerful gravity would changed the celestial mechanics of the planets.
What gave you the impression that angels are asexual?
A stellar fragment wouldn’t need to actually pass through the solar system to wreak havoc. If the density was that of a neutron star, it could pass far beyond the Ort cloud and still cause all kinds of problems. Then the question for scientists would be, “What held the solar system together?” Such a fragment would have actually caused more damage than just changing orbits, even assuming that it was responsible for destroying the planet that used to reside where the asteroid belt currently is (and usually attributed to the gravitation of Jupiter ripping it apart.)
A buddy of mine told me they were neither male or nor female. I didn’t check the actual facts!
My personal theory is that the neutron star must have hurtled past the solar system about between 5 to 10 light years. Most likely the majority of the planets were aligned, which might explain they weren’t totally destroyed. I think a planet between Mars and Jupiter could have been a casualty of the ‘neutron’ star.
And I don’t think Jupiter would necessarily destroy a planet. Distance, mass, spin, angle of spin, might make difference.
Maybe there were more planets. I also read somewhere, the sun could have ejected a fragment. But that would have caused havoc outward bound, if the planets were in range. I don’t see such a piece returning.
The topic of the gender of angels is actually quite interesting. Nearly always, in the bible, they are referred to as being masculine. However, in Zechariah 5:9-11, both male and female angels are described.
9 Then I looked up—and there before me were two women, with the wind in their wings! [reference to female angels] They had wings like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth.
10 “Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel who was speaking to me.
11 He [notice “HE”, masculine] replied, “To the country of Babylonia[a] to build a house for it. When the house is ready, the basket will be set there in its place.”
What makes it confusing is that angels are creatures of energy. In their natural realm, heaven, they would be neither male nor female. However, on earth, they could be either. This holds true for eyewitness accounts of angels, where both male and female angels have been mentioned. Still, Satan, Gabriel, and Michael, all of whom were specifically named, are all always referred to as male.
As for the planets, the jostling could have also been caused by a relatively nearby supernova (nearby as it within 30 light years.) If such had occurred early on, it could easily explain the misalignment. My guess would be that planetary ejections were likely and it is also as likely that Pluto and Cheron are moons rather than planets. That also explains the extreme eccentricity of the orbits.

Lets not forget the giant skeletons discovered in sveral parts of asia, especially the arid parts. Many religions mention giants. Some Homo Erectus skeletons were about 2,5m tall, same with other archaic humans.
I didn’t know David behead Goliath. You learn something new everyday.
Many people understand the Nephilim as hybrids, but another interpretation is that the nephilim were children of the unbelievers, who would there be the fallen in the eyes of the Hebrew god. Nephilim is used in different context in different parts of the bible.

To get the best meaning of Nephilim from a biblical standpoint, it is best to look at the ancient Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. From that, it isn’t hard to figure that they were indeed fallen and unbelievers because they followed Lucifer, who was cast out, fallen, and an unbeliever, even though he knew better. What most Christians don’t fully appreciate is the stature of the angels. They are extremely large creatures, from most accounts, so it would make sense that if they bred with humans, the offspring would tend to have very large proportions. One thing that is fascinating is that in so many of the skeletons, one of the things often mentioned is the extremely good condition of the teeth. This is also a commonality of Giants everywhere and it is something that can’t be claimed by any other hominid.
Yes, there have been skeletons of giants unearthed from virtually every populated area of the world, including Asia. There have even been giant skeletons found on Islands (in addition to Sardinia).
What an interesting blog! I remember reading about David and Goliath when I was younger. Seems when we’re young, the giants seem even larger.
I’m pretty sure that David, who was probably between 4 and 5 feet tall, thought that Goliath, at 9 and a half feet tall, was pretty big. lol David had an advantage, though…faith in God, who didn’t let him down.

Most people don’t, even if they read the Bible. Worse, giants are commonly treated like a myth, though there is plentiful solid evidence that they were and possibly still are quite real.

I’m even more impressed by David. Assuming that Goliath was nine and a half feet tall, his sword was most likely about five feet long and must have weighed 40-50 pounds or more. Yet, David used that sword to do the actual kill. (Unlike what many assume, it wasn’t the stone flung from the sling that killed Goliath, it was the giant’s own sword.) All that tells me that while David was just a shepherd boy, and probably not large in stature, he was quite strong.

Something doesn’t make sense. If Goliath was giant, then surely the ‘pebbles’ must have been bigger. I’m assuming David would need a bigger stone to knock of Goliath. Its quite possible David was taller than indicated in the Bible, otherwise how could he get such a speed and force to injure Goliath?
That isn’t at all surprising, considering the number of times that people of God far surpassed their own abilities. Never-the-less, if properly delivered, a stone the size of a marble, hitting a giant in the forehead just above the eyes could easily render him unconscious, even if delivered by a lad who was only 4 feet tall. It should also be remembered that while David was a boy, he was also powerful. He killed both a bear and a lion with little more than his shepherd staff, which is a good indication that he was stoutly built.

It is probably impossible to disentangle fact, folk tale and myth and declare with certainty which is which. For example, the Noah story has every appearance of myth but with a basis in fact – the end of the last age would cause many disastrous floods throughout the Northern Hemisphere.
As for giants, we know that Homo sapiens is only one of many species that evolved from a common ape-like ancestor. We know that there was a “pigmy” species that lived on the island of Flores (modern Indonesia), so why not a giant species that has also since become extinct?
What makes it more interesting is that the genes are almost certainly still with us, so ‘extinct’ would need to be used loosely. It is also a foregone conclusion that there were giants (the 9-10 foot variety) only a few hundred years ago. The puzzle is why so much effort has been made to hide the thousands of skeletons that have been found.
I would need to see the evidence for the “hidden skeletons” assertion, which is new to me. As for genes being passed on, surely this would only apply if the genetic variation happened before the “junction” in the line of descent from which Homo sapiens emerged, and not afterwards.
I could provide you with the evidence, but that would be a very long article. lol To do it justice, it would take probably 40-50 pages, if I kept it brief. Some of the skeletons also weren’t ancient. A few have been found that were quite recent and at least one giant, found in Afghanistan less than a decade ago, was recently deceased.
There were certainly giants that were around prior to the flood, though, and they weren’t isolated individuals at that time. In the recent past, it seems that they are more isolated, though I wouldn’t even begin to venture a guess as to why.
Conditions at some point must have favoured gigantism in humans, just as it did for animals in the last 2,5 million years. I think animals started to down size in the last 15, 000 years or so, maybe even later, after the Ice Age came to an end
Actually, downsizing should have occurred prior to the ice age. A large body is harder to keep sufficiently warm than a small body. Still, the apparent age of the giant skeletons seems to continue from 10,000 years ago to the present time.
The information is suppressed because it does not fit the orthodox view about evolution. You don’t have to be Christian or religious person to think giants are possible.
If a fossil does not fit the present dogma that humans arose in Afrika, then it is rejected or suppressed.
That is spot on. The Bible explains how they came to be, but it isn’t necessary to be a Christian to understand that they existed or still do. ‘Evolution’ has so many things going against it that proponents certainly don’t want yet another bit of information that casts doubt on the weak theory. Of course, they’ve made up all sorts of things to explain incongruities, so I’d imagine that they could come up with yet more, to cover for the scientific dogma that is thrown into doubt.
One factor to bear in mind about the disappearance of giant animals is that many species became extinct shortly after Homo sapiens moved to their region. Large animals provided a ready source of food and could not evolve defence mechanisms fast enough. They also tended to be slow in reproducing, and – once humans appeared on the scene – their death rates soon exceeded their birth rates.
There were two Ice Ages in relatively quick succession. The initially melting about 10,000BC and the Younger Dryars, about 7,500BC, both which resulting in flooding.
Human evolution no appears straight forward. Last I heard, there are Neanderthals, Denisovians, etc lurking around in our gene pool, so it quite possible humans have a ‘giant’ gene hiding in our DNA from some other undiscovered hominid species.
I’d say that you are right. A very large number of ancient civilizations spoke about the Giants, so it is virtually certain they were around, even without the modern “proofs”. If so, the genes are lingering, too. Genes don’t just vanish from the pool.
