Something very strange happened to me and I would like to share it with you. I was visiting a very dear friend of mine. She is older than me and has been like a mother to me since my mother passed away. We were talking and the subject of my childhood dream of being an author came up.
We were at her home. My friend got up and took three books off of her shelf and laid them on the table in front of me. She had written all three books.
She said look I have had books published from good publishing companies. I am a published author. I live in a trailer park and have nothing that is what writing and getting three books published did for me.
She went on to say, Brenda, you have a blog; you have written many articles online. You are a world renowned author. People all over the world read your articles. Your dream has come true. It just isn’t what you thought it would be.
I have not been able to stop thinking about it ever since. I am not sure of the point that she was trying to make. I am not really sure what she was trying to tell. What do you think she was trying to tell me?
She wants you to know without a doubt that you are a well-known author, and you are.
It’s a good point Brenda, I guess it’s hard to know how many people read our posts.
She want to let you know that you are a brilliant author because many people are reading your writings. It’s not necessary to published it in the publishing company.
Very interesting perspective!
Nice
You have written, and that all it counts! Some reads and understand but there will be some that won’t..If you love writing, keep on writing!
Outstanding!
There are millions of people who write and millions more who read. The number of the former who deserve to called “world renowned” is always going to be small, because of the tiny proportion of the latter who will ever read what they have written!
Do not underestimate your abilities.
That you don’t have to be “published” to be a real author!
Do not underestimate your abilities. Breathe a little more self-confidence
ton. You have chances not to miss them.
She was reminding you of a fact you either overlooked or forgot; Self Belief!
This is easy, Lady, there are so many traditionally published authors who never see an income from their books, or develop an audience yet bloggers and self-published authors such as you and I develop audiences in the thousands, far beyond the dreams of so many authors.
