Food For Thought

As I have mentioned a few times before I am a vegan, and as a result when I meet people I often get a lot of questions about my diet (not to mention thinly-veiled criticism and hostility towards it. In fact, I often get the Third Degree about what I eat!) The other day, for example, when a man discovered I don’t eat meat, eggs or dairy products, he appeared horrified, and commented he didn’t see how I could possibly enjoy food at all (all plant-based, ya know? Trying indeed).

It’s funny, a lot of people seem to think a vegan diet is all rabbit food. I must admit, it can get quite tedious, eating nothing but plants, but the secret is to vary your diet, so you are not always eating the same thing. What I do is eat plain lettuce one day, then I have it grilled the next, and baked lettuce the day after, etc. As a special treat I sometimes have  roast lettuce in lettuce sauce (served on a bed of lettuce).

As you can see, there is a lot of variety there.  What’s not to enjoy??!

(PS If you want to know what I *really* eat, check out some of my recipes I have already shared here. )

  1. Being a veggie great. You know my sentiments anyway. Its so strange how meat eaters react to folks who don’t eat meat. But these are usually people of low intelligence – untermensch?. Ich bin sicher du verstehen. I guess say that would be rude LOL
