Ok guys, with 2020 Chicago Marathon lottery currently in the process and soon to be ending, I started planning alternative marathons to run, as I did last year after not getting in to Chicago Marathon via lottery. You know, I’am not in anticipation to get the lottery results as I was last year which is a relief! Could be because I enjoyed my alternative marathon this year which was the 2019 Detroit Free Press/TCF Bank Marathon. Oh, I loved it and cannot wait to visit Detroit Michigan again. It was a great alternative that allowed me to see the inner beauty of Detroit Michigan & Windsor Ontario Canada through the run course. But anyway! At this very moment I have in my sights St Jude Memphis Marathon (Memphis TN), St. George Marathon (St George UT), Philadelphia Marathon (Philadelphia PA), Space Coast Marathon (Cocoa FL), and Indianapolis Marathon (Indianapolis IN).

don’t understand winter marathons. what’s wrong with spring or fall?
Spring is fine, but winter is brutal. I have done a spring marathon before, but that was many moons ago. In order to do a spring marathon you’d have to be in great marathon shape during winter which few runners are depending on your condition and if you are doing back-to-back. When I ran my spring marathon I had done training in the winter, but now a days I’am like the hell with it. I stick to fall marathons because I start training typically in the summer, then it trickles into the fall. I use my winters mostly to focus on inner gym workouts.
that makes sense. hadn’t factored in the training
I have actually searched for Spring marathons into next year. The interest is there, but iam picky with choosing cities.
as well you should be…
I just feel so much comfortable with fall because I have a different level of fitness with the including of bike rides with my running. I can do indoor workouts, but it is just too boring in comparison to outdoor. Watching people and nature is intriguing, lol. Mostly funny shit people do.
If you don’t get the Chicago one, then Indianapolis is a fun city to go to.
It has a slight advantage because I have family that live there. Probably will do it, if the price is not ridiculous. And Indy is also know to sell out. Other than Indy, I do love the St George Utah because the scenery is different.
