Every year, with cold weather, one of the main concerns in the home is heating. There are fewer concerns if you use the same system from the first year and you are not going to change it. But if you install a new house or decided to heat home in more rational way, there are new questions.
The artificial fireplaces are especially useful when heating small rooms, and the fireplaces, due to their possibilities are valued not only for heating, but also as an internal interior detail. Nevertheless, both systems generate heat, which is why it is most important to choose the right heating method for your needs.

Artificial fireplaces due to their small volume are most commonly used to heat a local area. When firing a fireplace, it is possible to heat several rooms if ducts are installed. Also, fireplaces are traditionally perceived as an important part of the interior – sometimes people who buy a fireplace need fire more due to the aesthetic rather than the thermal effect.

Sometimes it happens that a fireplace is the only heating element, say, somewhere in the homestead. But in most cases they are installed as part of the interior and as an additional heating device. So, one of the main criteria for choosing is proportionality. The size of the glass is chosen according to the size of the room.
Sometimes people come and look for a fireplace according to its power, as if looking for a boiler. The power in this case is not the main criterion – if you choose a fireplace as part of the interior, you must conform to the style, shape, size, location, shape of the glass – the glasses are straight, curved, trapezoidal, angular, double-sided. Of course, not the last role plays the price.

When choosing a fireplace or artificial fireplace you should also consider functionality, keep in mind that it is usually necessary to have or install a chimney, have a heating plan, consider financial options and alternatives.

The differences of fireplaces and artificial fireplaces
As already mentioned, it is important to remember that the functionality of the artificial fireplace can be both local and the entire static space. The artificial fireplaces usually do not have a heat collector, and they give away the heat by their hot body.

Normally the artificial fireplace heats up the room in which it stands. Over a longer period of time, the heat spreads through open openings into other rooms. And with the installation of a fireplace with a capsule, the heat chamber is formed as a heat collector and from there it is possible to drain the heat flows either in a natural way or by forced flow through ducts with turbines.

However, not less important is how the system looks in the room. The artificial fireplace a person chooses by own taste as an appropriate, likable form, it’s a device already ready for using. The fireplace is combined to the interior of the house, there are various configurations possible.

The artificial fireplace is chosen by people who need to heat up a large local room and those who need a minimalist form. The fireplace is non-standard, in which a person defines his personality. The size of the artificial fireplace and fireplace differs by three or four times.

Artificial fireplace types
Ovens are made of cast iron or steel. According to the heating method they are divided into heating radiant (heat accumulating) and convection ovens. Convection heating ovens have a double body – between them is a warm air stream that creates a warming up of the entire room. When radiating heat, the walls of the heat sink give off the accumulated heat to the environment.

Artificial fireplaces can be divided by fuels – solid fuel (firewood, granules, and briquettes), gas, electricity. Granular artificial fireplaces are comfortable if the owner does not want to use fuel frequently. They are of a higher technical level – a program is introduced, and then, under the temperature regime, automatically pouring granules into the fireplace.

Fireplaces
The main component of the fireplace is a fireplace sometimes also called a capsule or cassette. It is a closed metal structure made of cast iron or steel. Fireplaces can be airy, where the heat carrier is air, or with water heat exchanger where the heat carrier is water, like boilers. For airy heating fits any capsule of any design – both cast iron and steel is suitable. If we want to connect the fireplace to the existing heating system of the house or to prepare the hot water by the fireplace, we choose a capsule with a water heat exchanger. This fireplace can have a dual function – to heat with air and water.

Also, most models of fireplaces can have a variety of modifications – secondary air duct, double glazing, and tinted glass, accumulating materials. All fireplaces usually have doors with a heat-resistant glass. They are opened or lifted, and are designed to observe combustion or simply enjoy the view of the fire.

Fireplaces can heat up quite large rooms. This is achieved by installing ducts and other turbines to provide heat to other premises. The location of the fireplace is not significant for the ducts – they can be driven both under the ceiling and under the floor. At least 15-20 minutes after the start of fueling, the heat starts to feel through the ducts. Fireplaces can be classified according to their fuel type. They are electrical, gaseous, solid fuels.

Solid fuel fireplaces.
The market is dominated by solid fuel – firewood, briquettes, and granules. The most important thing is to dry the fuel when use such devices, because the energy content of the dry fuel is several times higher than that of the wet.

Electric fireplaces.
Manufacturers claim that it is quite difficult to distinguish a flame of this type of fireplace from the true flame. Also, these fireplaces are comfortable for those without the opportunity to install chimneys or ducts, for example, in apartments, because they do not distinguish traditional combustion products. Fireplaces can also perform a heating function, but they are not so powerful, and the cost of operation is usually higher than that of solid fuels.

Gas fireplaces.
Gas fireplaces are an alternative to those who do not want or do not have the ability to care for the fuel, to store it, but want to enjoy the warmth and relaxation of the fire. These fireplaces can work with natural gas, liquefied or directly from the balloon. The electronic control system, which is installed in gas fireplaces, allows precise determination, adjustment and maintenance of the desired temperature in the room.

If I lived in a cold place I would choose the traditional fireplace.
Personally, partial to stone but I like my inverted locomotive stack hood and tambour pedestal. Quite comfy!
I like the traditional fireplace best although in talking about heating you have to consider more than just heat in a home. Such as ventilation, and double glazed windows or maybe having solar panels on the roof top to have an energy efficient home.
The most important consideration here, is the air you breathe in your home.
We had a heat pump installed here, as it’s efficient to keep heat in or cool the air in a hot humid summer. There is also a possibility of having something installed in the roof to keep the air dry in a very humid or damp place. We call that a DVS and with those you can reduce asthma and hayfever.
I prefer the artificial fireplace for the simple reason I hate to clean fireplaces.
i have a regular fireplace, but i havent used it yet. for one thing, i am always out somewhere, and i rarely stay home for too long. plus, i am always afraid i will accidentally burn down the house because i am klutzy.
It adds glamour to houses plus the fact that gives comfort during winter but may suggest to be economical so go for which is a little bit way cheaper
Here in Torrevieja the winter is not cold. However, I have seen traditional fireplaces. In Bulgaria 80% of the traditional ones are related to the heating system of the house. I prefer them. I like the fire and the aroma of the wood.
Stunning ideas
wow Amazing df
I think that traditional is very beautiful, but artificial takes less maintenance.
