Rubber Duckies For Charitable Purposes

Some 35,000 rubber ducklings, of which 10,500 have been decorated by so many children from Bilbao schools, will be launched on the estuary of the capital of Vizcaya next July 5 in the third edition of the Estropatada, the race for charitable purposes which is organized by the Walk On Project (WOP).

The goal of these rubber ducky careers, WOPpatos, is to raise money to finance research projects on neurodegenerative diseases. For this third Estropatada, 10,500 children from 30 schools in Bizkaia have been painting and customizing their ducklings in recent weeks.

The organizing foundation of this event has reported that the sale of tickets for participation in the race is “triggered”, which can be exchanged for one of the ducklings of the race.This year has organized a contest of ideas to find the best proposal when launching the thousands of ducklings to the water. The organizers received about 60 suggestions and selected one of them.

  1. This is cool. They do this here on the Savannah river too. But there is a twist, each duck has a number and you can enter the contest to see which Duck makes it to the finish line first. Th winner gets free Movie tickets and coupons for free dinner.
