We have all experienced love in different forms. This ranges from parental love, sibling love, friendship to romantic love. We know what it means to love and to be loved.
The following is a poem that I was requested by a friend of mine whom I had known for a shorter time. We had never met in person; only through texts. She requested I compose a poem for her when she learned I was a writer. That was about six years ago. We lost contact but the poem still lives on.
I hope you’ll enjoy it.
To a lady, who in less than thirty minutes
Separated by few miles
I dedicate this poem
For she touched my life in ways I cannot comprehend.
Christine, am thankful,
To have known a lady like you
As I feel your warmth, love, care and understanding
For the short time we’ve known each other.
Your smile, your voice,
Your heart, am comforted
And thankful to God
For blessing me with a lady friend like you.
You have formed a special place in my heart
A treasure in my life, a vessel of honour
The very best of God, perfected in beauty
And blessed beyond imagination.
Wherever you are, whatever you do
Know this one thing Christine
I am grateful and indebted
To have a friend like you.
