I sang this song every night to the kids (when I was home) as they settled down to go to bed.
It is one of the banned songs now. (dad don’t sing that it makes me tired). This song was one I first heard when I was a child and i love the song.
Peter, Paul and Mary impacted my childhood with harmony and words.

This is a sad song about leaving, and when the kids were little I was often leaving. But when I was home, I sang this too them every single night!

Thank you for the memories I should say, This song was popular and on the radio when I was growing up. At about the age of 10 I liked this song so much I made up my own kind of words and put my Barbie on a table in front of the woman who watched me while mom was at work and she had to listen to Barbie sing this song while a sang from the hallway, lol
This is in my top ten of their songs. My favorite is Car Car, but few remember that one.

I loved this warm song and how they perform it. I can’t stop loving the songs my parents sang to me or that came across me in my childhood. They are special to me.
