We all have to endure tough times in life. And we have to find what works for each of us, as individuals, to work our way through the challenges and battles. I have been blessed with friends who understand my challenges and things life has thrown my way. This book came in the mail today from a friend I have not talked to in many years. Another example of how important our choices are in life. Choose your friends wisely.
This saying… This Too Shall Pass..is a proverb from the medieval Levent (Persian, Hebrew and Turkey) around 1200AD. Many think it was taken from the bible. The quote was popular in the first half of the 19th century particularly with the English poet Edward Fitzgerald and later being employed in a speech by Abraham Lincoln, in his address to the Wisconsin State Agricultural Society in 1859. I found that bit of trivia interesting. Regardless of the origin, I use it many times over in my life and it helps tremendously. No matter what you are going through remember…. This Too Shall Pass.
It is also one of my favorite quotes and yes, I initially thought it was taken from the bible. However, the same truth can be found in other philosophy and faith as well. It is quite true that anything and everything passes…and so even the current difficulty will also pass.
Yes it will eventually pass, in the meantime the pain is inevitable.
Miss seeing you around my friend.
I have and I am grateful to my real friends.
Good for you Elenka, friends are priceless.
Sincere friendships have become increasingly scarce today, and again you have a lot of luck that enables you to tap your energy to jump beyond all that blocks your path. Go ahead, my friend!!!
You are right Albert. I am trying my best to give life a well deserved shot.
This quote can be a life saver to a degree. Many people are crying out for help, thinking that their troubles will never end. if troublesome people could just try to understand, that their troubles will pass one day, but first they have to change their attitudes
Yes indeed LaJenna. It has been for me many times over. My son would still be here if he could have believed this.
My Dad says this, but only associates it with death.
I use it in all different aspects of my life, whatever struggle I am going through, it works!
One of many favorite quotes.
