The common blue butterfly is a beautiful and small butterfly. Unfortunately, it is rarely seen in my area now. I remember that in childhood I often saw them in large numbers. I think, butterfly populations of grassland areas have experienced a dramatic decline. Two of the main causes of these butterflies’ disappearance could be the intensification of the agricultural exploitation of the land, and the tendency to abandon them. In both situations there is a degradation of the grasslandand implicitly of the habitat specific to the common blue butterfly.

Blue butterfly have got its own kind of beauty
I love this small butterfly, it was great fun chasing them in my childhood. But you are right, their numbers have decreased a lot over the years 🙁
Why are the numbers decreasing?
Man made problem. Not sure about the exact reason tough, it seems they are very sensible to temperature variations.
The main cause is the destruction of their habitat.
How beautiful and it is sad that even these little beauties are in danger.
Have we reached a time when everything is coming to an end.
I wonder what will happen if butterfly population dropped to a critical amount…
will it be as bad as the bee’s drop in population?
All insects ensure the natural balance, and their disappearance can not lead to something good.
Thanks for the information, I’ve not been paying enough attention. I’ve only quite recently heard about the bees … so thought about butterflies too …
We seem to be cycling downward. Perhaps this old world needs a revamp.
This world needs less pollution and more care from people.
