I have the most common color of eyes and it certainly isn’t a green eye. This list goes like this from most common to least common.

Brown Eyes

Hazel Eyes

Blue Eyes

Green Eyes

Gray Eyes

Amber Eyes

My niece has one eye that is two colors. When she reached an appropriate age they asked if she wanted colored contacts so her eyes would be the same color. She had been teased about it at school.

She proudly said “Heck no!” People who tease me would just find something else to point out as wrong and different.” I was so proud of her assessment of the situation.  I rarely think about or even notice it. In fact, now I am wondering if any of her children have an eye with two colors. I guess I need to look them in the face more and pay attention. It’s sad that I don’t know that!

  1. I have green, so does one son. The other son has grey eyes. My daughter in law has Heterochromia. One is dark brown almost black, while the other is a lighter chocolate brown. So pretty. Heterochromia is very rare, and is passed on. So her kids might very well have it. She should be very proud.
