Sunset is one of my most favorite things to do in this world. There was a time in our travel to Thailand, Cambodia and Laos where we spent days chasing the sunrise and sunset — climbing mountains and temples as well as hopping from one beach to another just to catch that glimpse of the sun and the changing colors of the sky.
These photos were taken in the summer of 2016 – one of those spontaneous activities with the girls. It was a Sunday and we were happily lazing around in the bedroom when all of a sudden they decided to go to a beach which is a good 3-4 hours drive away from our town.
The drive going there was fun because we pass through rolling hills and Marlboro country-like scenery (sorry did not bother to take pictures because I normally don’t take photos of such spontaneous trips except for the sunset). And the kids had fun with the up and down, roller-coaster ride.
The kids are these kids – my nephew, Justin and my niece, Kim (I also call her Mik – her name scrambled). Both of them practically grow up tailing us (along with 3 more) in our travels as they stayed with us during school vacations. They are cousins. In the family, our folks, and even us, encourage building friendship within the family believing that they are of good influence. Of course. But, our uncles and aunts and our dear parents never knew it can also turn cousins and siblings into partners-in-crime. Lol!

Ciao!
Very nice photographs, great for the challenge! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you but your pink sunset clouds are just as gorgeous
Chasing the sunset? Sounds like a cool hobby
Yeah. It is a cool hobby. But I like chasing sunsets in beaches — not much with the old temples in Siem Reap, Cambodia because the stairs were high, steep and long and the steps of the stairs can accommodate only a kid’s foot lol
If you had to lift all those bricks, you’d make small steps too…
Hahahaha oh well now that you put it in that kind of perspective I agree and certainly I understand the logic of the small step. Ancient structures never fail to amaze me because in our arrogance we always thought our generation is more advanced but hey, Angkor Wat, Machu Picchu, the pyramids?
Technological level isn’t a generically set scale, it has many different values…
What an amazing beach and sunset. You know I love the water anyway!
I love the water be it in a river or the sea —- something about it that is just calming and refreshing even if you don’t actually dip into it
awe very beautiful,nice ………….
Thank you…glad you like it
Thank you Annya it is indeed nice
Whuiii… All these pictures are outstanding! That yellow just fabulous!
It was fab because people here are not really fond of watching sunsets so the beach was ours during that magical hour. However, the drive back home was like passing thru some Blairwitch Project scene hahaha the highway was dark and deserted and we were the only vehicle on the road.
3 hours drive home in a tense atmosphere is like watching a horror movie twice in a row…
It was only two hours of that— that place is two hours away from the city. From the city to our town, the road is safer and lighted and there are other motorists. But my uncle would die of heart attack (if he is still alive) waiting for us to be home. Lol!
Well done! Nice pictures!
Wow, these photos are so stunning, peaceful and relaxing. I always enjoy a sunset.
Yeah. Sunset brings that kind of feeling – an ending with a happy thought
Absolutely, I know that feeling well.
Awe, wonderful sunsets and smiling faces. Love that golden hour and it’s the best over water!
Thank you. When I saw your “Orange to Yellow”, I already knew sunset photos will be perfect hahaha thanks for making it easy
Boy they are perfect I love going with you girls on your trips. : )
If you like rowdy crowd then you are in for a treat hahaha ohhh we do get shy with new friends though and we pretend like we are some angels ahahahaha
Id have to bow out as evening comes, but the day tripping stuff, I would be all for it. ; )
