I have a collection of thoughts and quotes that I go to often when I am having a difficult day. I will share a few of them with you through this challenge. Most of what I share you may have heard, but maybe a word or a thought can help someone out there. We never know what the next person is going through. In this post I chose kindness as the topic. Always be kind and non-judgmental as you just never know what the next person’s situation may be. Everyone you meet is fighting a battle or a struggle you know nothing about. I also learned through my grief over the years that if you help someone else, just a small act of kindness, it will in turn help you.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia
Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for a kindness. ~Seneca
Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. ~Mark Twain
A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. ~Amelia Earhart
Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. ~Tenzin
These are superb quotes.
I wish I could take credit for them, but they do keep me going.
Thanks for visiting.
I like these quotes very much!
I love reading quotes, they are therapeutic for me.
“Even”? “Especially” when there’s nothing to gain! That is altruism and THE source of true happiness! “It’s not what you do when you have no choices, it’s what you do when have many”. -Unknown-
I agree, the word sounds and means more as Especially, more powerful.
Never heard the quote you shared, love it.
I got a bit enthused there. It happens.
I often transform quotes, conjure originals, and forget which is which. Might have been Mi Oon, (my own), Mandella, Angelou or Bullwinkle…Grin.
Love this! Please keep up with such wise quotes – they are very inspiring. Especially like the Amelia Earhart one, as I so appreciate the blessings that trees bring us :-).
Thanks Lois and always good to see you. I love reading all types of quotes.
You should join in on these easy challenge.
Mmm … I’ll think about it (am busy trying to promote my book reviewing at the moment, though, so am pretty occupied with that) 🙂
Beautiful theme, wonderful post! Kindness and hugs are free! Why not use them to make our world a better place?!
Exactly Windy, thank you for visiting and commenting.
Always good to see you.
If to any good being
at least one more,
If to these two beings,
add two more,
do you know how much he does?
At least a thousand and two.
I hope, hopefully, hopefully, hopefully, hopefully,
to every good being stands at least another one
Then it stops you from fear
and out of fear is shame,
when there is someone with you, with me and with them,
when there is no one alone.
If it is difficult not to hesitate,
do not suffer just so,
get a friend and paw give,
I will give you a hand.
This is part of a Bulgarian song in the style of Pop. It is called “Hope”.
What a powerful song, thank you so much for sharing the lyrics with me my dear friend Elenka.
I agree, especially because kindness is a highway to true peace and happiness.
Absolutely Albert, it is more than even three-fold.
Wow! You can even count them with precision!
I remember a speaker named Lester Brown who once said something like “Acts of kindness is like perfume. Spray it and it catches on to other people.”
Wow I like that quote, makes complete sense, sort of like this one I have always heard…
You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.
That is true with the quote of honey and vinegar.
Wonderful quotes and a great reminder to be kind to each other, Carol! Sometimes it’s so easy to jump into conclusion and be judgemental, even if we don’t have bad intentions. Also, a small gesture can have a huge impact on someone!
You are so right Ellie, just a reminder to pause and think before you react.
Great post, and I agree with you as well! Great quote!
Thank you so much Courtney. 🙂
My pleasure as always 🙂
Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. ~Mark Twain
Excellent quotation
I agree Branka, I love that one! 🙂
I agree with you Carol! I try to be kind to everyone, and if someone does not respond back with kindness, I will still be happy that I was kind to them.
That is the right attitude. We cannot control how others react but we can still make the effort.
