I put out peanuts in an attempt to photograph the bluejays but they avoided me. This mockingbird didn’t even seem to mind the flash.
This was one succession of photos, notice the gray background, because there was no light or accentuation of any form, I used a little bit of flash just to give a bit of light to the eye and some color.
One bird food I can not keep out there for any time, the mealworms, all kinds of birds devour them. That’s what the mockingbird was feeding on in these photos. Besides the mockingbird there was a orange-crowned warbler that visited as well taking turns between the suet and mealworms.
Great bird pictures. Keep up the great photography work!
Thank you Rachael so glad you liked the images
Excellent captures! What a beautiful bird!
Great photo of the mockingbird. I use an open tray feeder for peanuts and sunflower seeds. The blue jays don’t mind a photo, of course I am inside when I take it. And the mealworms, I put them out for bluebirds in the spring but the mockingbirds get them first!
Nice post! Nice pictures!
Lovely bird and so alive in your photos.
beautiful picture, it’s humane to bird feed
