One of the things I have collected for many years now is the badges you get at conferences. There was a time when I went to three or four conferences or more per year. I started more than ten years ago keeping the badges. Don’t ask me why I do not know why I did. I had them in a box for a long time and just kept adding the badges to the box. Then one day I just stuck them on the shelving bracket in my office. Again, no clue as to why. But I did, and they have been there ever since. I suspect now it is less of a collection and more of a habit to keep the badge and stick each one with the others. I do know I also kept a few where they misspelled my last name, that is a common occurrence but one I do note when it happens.
There are badges hanging on the other side of my office shelves as well.
Anyway back to the collection of collection photos from my life. I have two more collections that I have not shared yet; those are coming. I have slowly worked through all the collections I have managed to collect over my 30 year IT career, and before that as well. Collections can be great connections to things that once impacted or were of value. They can also be clutter. You have to find value in what you collect, or the cluttered word comes often.
Anyone can join the Photo Challenge. Take a picture (less than seven days old) and share it!
It is not too many if you want to keep them. They obviously bring back good memories.
I wonder sometimes, I’ve tried to throw them away several times, but just can’t.
I understand, I am still going through my Dad’s things and so many things I have never seen, I have to keep.
It has been 4 years and I still am going through these things.
Interesting collection, Coach. I once collected it too because I was happy to collect everything. That’s my hobby too. Later when all the places were full, I was confused enough to keep them, and one of the most stuff that consuming places was the training uniforms from the clients, always a pair because I always work with my wife, never worn but just kept. Hzzz…
Collections are interesting both in what we keep and sometimes more critically why we keep them. Your example of the uniforms is something you’ve kept because you’ve done that with your wife. I have many things I’ve kept because my wife gave them to me. It is a very interesting consideration.
Well, collecting is a fun hobby except collecting something unproper like collecting women, because it’s like collecting and planting problems. Hahahaha…
Yes there are things we should not collect and things we should!
Geeze Doc, that’s quite a collection there!
When I looked at the picture I thought that is a lot. Then realizing there is more on the other side, I realized that may be too many!
