Every Team Needs a Leader

Every team needs a leader. So what is the difference between teams, the only real difference is created by the leader and their ability to make a functional team. People are on teams in every facet of their adult life. A family is a team. Professional groups and groups of friends are teams. There are even “teams” of people going to social events. There is a reason that I am thankful and proud to be on a team with a great team leader.

  1. I have never been told an answer that was not correct.
  2. If the answer is unknown, I have been told as soon as the answer was correct and concrete.
  3. A leader adjusts the the needs of the team. Some people want to meet, others need a phone call, and some need to left alone with an occasional check in.
  4. A leader holds you responsible and gives you support.
  5. A leader tells you the hard things as well as builds you up.
  6. A leader is tired and needs you to fill in the gaps where you have the talent to do so.
  7. A leader needs to know they are appreciated.
  8. A great leader knows that the only way the team can be successful is if the players on the team, including the leader are willing to work together, shift their attitude and skills, and REACH THEIR GOALS.
  9. I believe that a true leader wakes up every day concerned about others.
  10. I am proud and grateful to have a leader who is passionate, caring, clear, driven, serious, and kind.

  1. I used to always think I was born for leadership and I have since come to learn that being a leader is really just a highly advance form of being a great team player.
