This is just my basic drawing of various subjects . Each one is unique, a different subject and some use different materials and various techniques. To me, I don’t mind abstract or realism. My work here is representative of my ideas. Some forms of art dictate that Art is not supposed to represent anything at all. Others have to be copied exactly as a photograph.
I am myself and draw and paint according to my ideas. Yes, I teach art, but I don’t want my pupils to do art like me, I want them to be true to who they are and to express their own ideas. I am rather tired of seeing people going to an art class producing art work that is a carbon copy of their teacher. Creativity is creativity. Creativity has to be from yourself. No one can do it for you.
#1 The Woman and the Moon
This is "Frontage", I took a piece of paper and put it over different surfaces around our house and scribbled over the surface.
After that I used the shapes of the surfaces to mean something to me. I put in a fictional drawing which is not copied and not from anyone else's ideas.
Here is the Woman and the Moon.
#2 Woman in a Hat
#3 Punk Rocker Girl
Punk Rock was not a favourite with me. I didn't like the sharp edges or razor blades or studs in people's noses. It made me hurt to look at something put in a nose. I don't mind pierced ears, that's about it for me. Don't like anything else. Maybe I am a simple person. It may appeal to others, but not me.
I saw this girl in a magazine and drew her in pencil. She has a softness but it's almost as if everything in her life became a mess. I don't mind a mess, but this woman or girl is not trash to me.
