Rise – release version

I originally did this as the cover for a horror film but the producer hated it. The joke was on him, because his straight to DVD film flopped, but the artwork was a huge success everywhere else. It was eventually selected as the cover for a horror magazine, thus vindicating my design.

    • The most recent iteration was modeled in Daz Studio then rendered with Lux which leaves you with the cover image. Then I did a buncha postwork to get the final result…

  1. Whoa! That is definitely expressive.
I happen to have a large collection of the genre started by Romero! I investigate them all as an intellectual curiosity. The good and the bad and the horrific.
This would fit right in there with any of them. Nice!

      • Some are notable – Shaun of the Dead, Undead (2003 – Australian), The three Resident Evil flicks I’ve seen were interesting (was there a fourth?), Night of the Living Dead and Diary of the Dead but the Romero films are all worth watching.
I have watched a lot of bad ones as well. I like to just see what twists they come up with. More like comedy than horror sometimes. There are so many … Oh 28 Days Later was interesting and the sequel not so much..

        • Shaun of the Dead wasn’t a zombie film, it was a rom/com. It sez so right there on the box “A romantic comedy. With zombies”

I told my girlfriend I would watch a chick movie with her for Valentine’s Day. She also thought it was a zombie film and disregarded the copy on the box…

          • You’re right. It is an oddball one which is why. Undead is very unusual in some ways. The straight up horror is when the zombies move scary fast, Among the worst – Flight of the Living Dead.
