Cacogen – Evangelion mix

Because the original cacogen post did so well,  I am releasing the sister piece as promised. As I mentioned in the previous post, the cacogens hide behind masks. This mask is inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion and I am attracted to the economy of design, so I had to use it here

I am seriously considering modeling that mask again

#1 release version

Here is the Evangelion inspired version of the cacogen: Once again a masked figure crouching in an alley, concealing an ambiguous form in threadbare robes but the remains of embroidery suggest a priestly figure fallen from grace. The composition is deliberately chosen so that the alcoves suggest wings (or indicate their absence)

Fans of the series will recognize the damage to his mask while those unfamiliar will read it as another indication of squalor

#3 original recipe

This piece is so old that I really didn't do much in the way of color correction, but it was make with my secret recipe of eleven herbs and spices. Don't get too excited because six of them are pepper and the rest of them are salt...

What do you think?

  1. The ignorant populace had nothing to fear from the cacogens, their fear and hatred was turned to those gentle outsiders but the exultants; the nobility was the true enemy of the commoners…
