Arid or the Beach (part 2)

We took the dogs to Del Mar Dog Beach in Del Mar California.

Del Mar has been a dog friendly city since 1959, and nine months out of the year, dogs are allowed along the 2 mile plus stretch of beach.

This area of the beach is called North Beach and referred to as dog beach since dogs are allowed year round. Dogs have to be leashed during the summer months. We like to go when it is still off leash.

She is checking out the waves and birds that are fishing just off the breakers.

      No just warm enough where you wont get hypothermia. Our water temp averages around 57 degrees or 14 C. Way to cold for me, although in August the water temps reach a whopping 68 degrees F and 20 C. And the beach air temp reaches 80 on some days. (26C). My favorite temp is around 80.

Good post for stories and experiences on the beach with your kids, but also reminds me that I am still averse to comply with my daughters’ invitation to go to the beach… You know… The sun seems so close to our heads… So hot!

Beautiful photos, each one. It reminds me of Gulf Shores in Alabama. And the Florida beaches. I know they are all packed since school is out in some places.
