I found this big green house on a visit to Guyana in South America. While colorful houses aren’t common in North America, they are quite popular in other areas of the world. This one caught my attention because of the bright shade of green and the size. It also appeared to be a newly built house.
Guyana is famous for being the only English speaking country in South America and home to one of the world’s largest gold mines. With some 70% of the country still uninhabited, Guyana’s pristine rainforests, along with many natural resources. make it a green paradise.

I love the color and look of this house. I would not mind living there.
It is an interesting looking house with lots of living space so why not.
Very nice house with modern unusual design!!! As for Guyana, know that famous British naturalist Gerald Durrell held an expedition there.
That is interesting, I will have to look up Gerald Durrell
The house looks very interesting. We have very few houses in our country in such vibrant colors
Brightly colored houses seem to be more common in certain countries.
Looks nice but I would paint over the green if I lived there.
Unfortunately I only remember the name Guyana from the Jim Jones tragedy.
Yes that incident did put Guyana on the map.
I had to click yes to the first question. Depending on where the house was located, I would say yes if it were in a tropical place, and no in the north. All of our houses are different shades of beige tan, grey, white. Boring. 😉
So true. Houses in parts of the Caribbean and South America, for example ,are quite colorful but would be an anomaly in these parts.
Great house color … I like it because it’s something special
It is different and I think it would attract a lot of attention.
I’m sure it attracts a lot of curious looks … it’s really something special
I would never paint my house green. At the moment our house has marble chips which are white
I have had my house painted partially green once but it was a pale green
What I know is the Guyana tragedy with the mass suicide led by pastor Jim Jones.
Yes, unfortunately that is what most people I have talked to remember most about Guyana, it put the country on the map for all the wrong reasons.
