Well, my sister and I prepared fried rice the other day…
The reason why we wanted to cook was because we’ve leftover food – carrots, onions and some cha shew and they happen to be good ingredients for fried rice.
We added some prawns, corn, french beans and egg to make it more balanced and colourful.

Making things out of leftovers is always a challenge, but usually turn out great.
Hmm… Fried rice is one of the easiest… 🙂
Thanks
I always try to make something out of leftovers and fried rice is one of those.
Yap, great way to use up many ingredients as most can go well 🙂
I love rice, it does not matter how it’s ready
Thank you… fried rice is easy to prepare, just that need quite some ingredients.
LOL, and I, on the other hand, prefers “western” way of cooking… like I like lemon with my salmon. I also like to try recipe with fruits
:p
Great article and photo. I love fried rice.
Glad to know, Milica. 🙂
Oh yes, I love fried rice, but it isn’t a typical dish over here.
We often have rice salad that is alike, with leftovers, but we don’t fry the rice.
Hmm… So you just mix rice with salad?
It is called ‘salad’, but there are no green leaves. It’s just a salad because it’s usually served cold, and there are other things that would taste good in a salad.
Like a potato salad, but with rice instead of potato. ?
Honestly, I can’t really imagine rice with salad sauce…
but what goes best with rice?
Maybe I can try them one day when I’m lazy to cook :p
LOL No sauce, just toppings like olives, sweet corn, ham and cheese in cubes, canned tuna. Some add peppers and boiled eggs. ?
Sounds good to me. I love rice but never tried to make fried rice. I have a rice cooker so I can make some rice and then try the recipe.
It’s really easy to make…
Fried rice work best with overnight cooked rice.
But a trick is to add slightly lesser water when cooking the rice so that the rice is not too “wet” and “sticky”, it gives similar effect as overnight rice (little to no moisture).
Thank you for the information.
It looks so delicious! Unfortunately, I can’t eat fried food much, but all the ingredients you used are among my favorite.
Hehe, it isn’t actually “fried” but more like stir-fry …
Here in Spain I buy it half-baked. It is very tasty
Really? And the you boil it?
or bake it?
I really like fried rice cooked the way your photos shows. A favorite!
This is actually the more “western” way to cook fried rice …except the char sew.
The “traditional” way would be using dark soya sauce and the rice would be brownish…
The rice with parsley, carrots, corn, yummy, beautiful, and a new recipe I did not know before??????????????
I think I can try adding some parsley next time!
I love parsley!
I never ate rice in this way. Here, I’ve been watching the picture for 10 minutes and “I eat with my eyes, hah.”
Wow! Will you teach me that special skill?
You sit in front of the picture, and watch until your eyes fall out .. haha ..
