Today is the Great Thursday, the most important day of the Holy Week and the first before the Resurrection of Christ, where eggs are traditionally dyed.
Great Thursday hides a lot of symbolism. On this day, our ancestors did not work and did many rituals, the most important of which is the dyeing of the eggs. The first egg to be painted today must be red. It makes a sign on the forehead of the children, and then to everyone else in the family.
This egg is left out of the others and replaced with the past year, which has so far been in the house to bring health, joy and happiness to its inhabitants.
Thus, we Orthodox Christians begin preparations for Easter which for us on 28.04.
These are eggs personally painted by me.
