Anyone can join this challenge, There are not any specific rules, except that the first line must be 5 syllables, the second line must have 7 syllables, and the third line must have 5 syllables. Have fun!

Do not blame yourself

When other people act wrong

It is them not you

Everyone has to make choices in their life, but some people tend to blame others for their mistakes. I am going through this now. I know someone that has mental challenges that is hurting someone I know.  I have always been a strong person, trying to learn as much as possible from other people around me. This time I do not know where to turn.  If I decide to let this one person suffer from his own mistakes the hard way, then the person that I know may blame herself. I need to practice this poem daily when it comes to this situation.

  1. There is one credo in life that I keep in mind every time I am about to criticize another person: “The way you see other people reflects the way you see yourself.” Thus, if I pass a judgment that someone is being judgmental or is a liar, it is likely that I am judgmental or liar myself. The pot calling the kettle black. So, while it is very difficult to do, I try, as much as I can to maintain a good perception of other people. It is like when we point our index finger at somebody, we have to remember that three other fingers are pointing right back to us.

That being said, when a person puts blame on us, let us remember that as well. That person is merely projecting his/her poor opinion of his/her own self to others. Nothing personal to us, everything personal to him/her.

  2. It’s a good mentality to want to be responsible for your mistakes because its always easier to blame others for it.

It goes the same for others, so yeah … as long as your conscience is clear.

  3. You are right. We can make every effort to not make mistakes or blame anyone for our problems, but we can not avoid being blamed by others. Only peace and wisdom of the heart can help us to behave effectively toward it!
