How Long are Your Names?

So, there are people who have long names.

Names that can’t fit in a national identity card (ID).

Names that’s difficult to utter or sometimes to pronounce. The best is to shorten the name to call that person’s with long-winded word.

Can you imagine calling a person with a 14-word letter everytime? It can be exhausting and sometimes difficult.

Anyone who knows why some people or communities have very long words that they can’t even fit a row in a class register? I can imagine a teacher calling a student by his all names when marking a register. And the pupils being called have very long names.

One country that has very long names is Uganda.

I’m not sure who holds the title as having the longest name. This is the longest name according to Guiness World Book of Record.

The longest name to appear on a birth certificate is for Rhoshandiatellyneshiaunneveshenk Koyaanisquatsiuth Williams, born to Mr and Mrs James Williams in Beaumont, Texas, USA on 12 Sep 1984.”

  1. Mine is on the longer side, but that’s common here. A foreign friend once wanted to translate some sentences in google translate and he was impressed that all the sentences in our language were twice as long, haha.
