For an unskilled eye, this tree is hard to recognize in the forest, from a distance. It resembles the conifers by its symmetrical silhouette, the shape of the leaves like needles and their persistence during winter. However, neither the wood nor the bark of this tree contain resin, and its fruits, some red, fleshy grains, have nothing to do with fir cones. It is Taxus baccata( tisa in romanian language ). It is also known as yew. Entire yew tree, except the red flesh of the berry covering the seed, is poisonous, so be careful if you find it in your area.

We see these berries all over the woods behind our house!
That is the oddest thing I have ever seen. Very interesting,
My answer is wrong again. I haven’t seen this tree before.
Very cool, I have not seen his tree and love the red berries.
I haven’t seen him here where I live. I knew the answer.
