One of the things I used to carry with me years ago was an Archos media player. I no longer need that, as my iPhone has enough memory for all my music and my videos. The thing that impacts me now is a set of noise-canceling earphones. But about two years ago, I found a small company on Kickstarter that has grown considerably since being crowdfunded to start in Goovis. Goovis makes a video screen playback system. There have been many headsets that do that over the years. But Goovis has moved beyond the headset concept. First off, you can use any number of headsets. What they do is take an input device (iPhone, iPad, Android tablet or phone, or your computer) and a project that information on the device screen.
The screen replicates how the image would look on a 100 inch TV. Check the process, 599 dollars, or less for the Goovis headset. Twelve thousand dollars or more for a 100 inch 4k TV. I have had a number of these headsets over the years. Goovis supports playing directly from the various streaming media systems (Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon video). It also supports items stored on the actual Goovis Device, and it supports an HDMI in connection. The operating system for the headset is the AndroidTV system. The other very interesting feature is the remove glasses feature. That isn’t the name of the feature; it is just that you do not have to wear glasses with the Goovis device.
It has a manual bar that allows you to change the magnification. If you have old eyes (like me), you can use the Goovis without wearing your glasses! Goovis does not have noise-canceling headphones. But the base unit (power and video sourcing) includes standard audio, Jack. I use my comfortable wired over the ears headset with the Goovis. You have to make sure the headset is big enough to cover the additional bump to your head size that the headset adds. I’ve watched live TV (by connecting my iPhone), movies, and several TedTalks. I don’t use the Goovis to listen to Audible books, but it is my go-to solution for when I need to review something and don’t want to turn on a project.
I give the Goovis headset an 8 out of 10!

All of this cool technology is out, but Virily is still blocking me from making polls. Virily needs to hire you, Doc
thanks pal, but I have a job now, and honestly i wouldn’t leave!
i just write questions that fit yes or no!
we can do our march madness breakdown by just have a poll per region (16 games)
That will work – I will work on getting the polls working before March Madness
i am looking forward to that! This is going to be the most interesting one in years. There truly is no clear favorite.

Life is short, enjoy!!
that is a very good way to look at the world CaroL!
As you might expect this is really interesting but I don’t think I’ll use it.
i expected as much from more than half of the readers! Just slogging away getting reviews done!
I don’t use any headphones
many do not, the advantage of these is they play video as well!!!
If you need it, it’s a great thing, dear friend … I’ll definitely never use that stuff
i understand I don’t use it as much now as I did 10 years ago.
You probably don’t need it that much, dear friend
I do often at home, it is nice to use when I need to see things larger on my phone
Sounds like a great product for those who need something like that.
it is one of those things I agree, those who use them, love them, Those that don’t have them now don’t have them because they don’t need them!
