following up on digital pictures and editing digital pictures!

I published my podcast yesterday at lunch. I try to do two a month. Http://docandersen.podbean.com. A podcast is simply an audio recording of information that you share. I share several expanded discussions of what I share here on my technology blog on Virily (and other locations.). Right now, I am working on a longer article focusing on the top technologies I think are going to be hot this year. I also tell friends and ed stories and shared the what and why of that in a Wander project post.

Yesterday I shared a post on Digital Cameras vs. Cell phone cameras. I have long argued that I prefer digital cameras. But more and more people use their cell phone as their only camera and honestly that is ok. You can also add capabilities to your cell phone camera. Ollioclip gives you the addition of greater zoom, greater macro capabilities by simply adding something over the lens of your cell phone camera. Nano ships an add-on that lets you create a 360-degree picture just using your cell phone. You can, and I have about these before, add infrared and other camera types to your cell phone. The rise and evolution of digital images is the interesting part.

The number of add ons for cellular cameras, as well as the advancing reality of the camera on your phone, makes things interesting. The other part of the digital image world is the growing number of low cost or free photo editing packages. You can find as I said for no money or very small amounts of products that help you improve your pictures quickly. I grew up in the Photoshop world. Mostly because when I started editing and playing with pictures Photoshop was the answer to the question of how. There were other packages as well from Corel. Corel still offers many interesting photo editing packages. But the world of editing pictures is now more than simply the Corel product or the Adobe product. What you can do with the pictures is also improved.

You can now easily draw on video. Once the purview of digital Paint Boxes, owned by TV studios, you can now use your iPad or computer to daw on a video. I thought it would be fun to see what people’s favorite photo editing package was. So, please let me know in the comment what your favorite editing package is! Also, let me know what device you edit pictures on (iPhone, Android phone, android tablet, iPad, or computer).

  1. It really depends what you are going to use the camera for. What I like about phones is automation, but if you want more control on the settings, then a camera might be a better choice.
I mainly use snapseed on my phone (android) to edit photos, but I may use other apps to do something specific.
I have used Adobe products in the past, but I never learnt how to use the Corel ones, I find them confusing.

  2. I save my latest photos to my computer. Others are on flash drives. I’m editing all the photos because I can’t post larger than 8 MB here. I also share photos on clickasnap. For now, things are good there, no problem.I prefer to shoot with a digital camera.

  3. I have many digital photos saved online but some on a separate disc. I have a big chore ahead because I know that ll those photos over the years I took in Latvia to do with clouds and nature I don’t need to keep. Just enough to post about how things were but too many to keep them all

  4. That’s all too much for me … I paint purple and my pictures are just fine … if I wanted to follow all the techniques I would have to change my phone 2x a year and everything else also
