2000 meters above sea level.
This is approximately the level of this trail on which we walked with friends on Vitosha Mountain 🙂
We, the residents of Sofia, are privileged to get up to the foot of the highest peak of this mountain in about 1 hour by lift or bus.
And recently it’s been snowing!!! It’s still clean and fluffy, not for skiing, but for ordinary tourists like me it’s great!
While down in Sofia, the weather was gloomy and unpleasant, the mountain didn’t feel that way.
Well, we did not make the ascent to Cherni Vrah (translated by Black Tip).
We made a walk between the nearby chalets for about 2 hours with a stay in the tea room of one of them and gently took the road to the city…
This is how we found the season of Winter Photography 🙂

You have gone from the low at sea level on the other post to high up in the mountains in this post.
Sofia is at about 600 meters above sea level. Not much difference 😉
It is a beautiful place. We have such mountains in our place but we wont find snow at an altitude of 2000 meters as ours is closer to equator.
Although Bulgaria is in Southeastern Europe, we have a nice winter here with snow and cold 😉
Southeastern Europe is still way up compared to the peninsular India. But each place has its unique advantages. Winter never gets too cold here and so it ends up being the most pleasant of all seasons.
as always your pictures are amazing. The snow looks so fresh and clean!
In this part, skiers do not dare to descend, because there are very large rocks, and the snow is fresh!
it really looks amazing, thanks for sharing!
the big one by my parent’s house is Mount Baldy, but it is only 1300 meters
I guess it already has snow…
it is almost entirely covered. can’t remember the last time I saw the snowline that low
Gorgeous photos. Mountains are not too far away.
Sofia is located in a plateau and several of the neighborhoods are at the foot of Vitosha Mountain.
A very nice photo. We have not mountains here.
To be honest, I hadn’t been climbing there in 10 months.
Yes, there are mountain surrounding in my village
Sofia is surrounded by mountains, but Vitosha is the closest.
