We had lost our fig tree that gave us joy for well over 20 years. For reasons unknown trees do surrender to whatever that is ailing them.
We had a cutting planted of this fig tree and we now see it showing up. It will take time for it to grow into a full tree but looking at its health we are sure that will happen quite soon.
These are wild figs but are quite juicy and tasty. We dried a few and also made syrup. This syrup goes well with ice cream.
Had a happy moment clicking this photo this morning.

There is no fig tree here and I am interested to see one that is fruiting.
I will create a post and upload a photo of my old tree when it was living.
I never liked figs, my Grandmother always had fig trees.
I like the dried figs which I soak in sugar syrup
I don’t know if the same only wild figs grow in our country … at sea where the weather is warmer
They are quite common where I live.
I did not see this in my real life. so I am not able to test.
It must be growing in your country. You just have to look
Never tasted wild fig before …………
They are quite juicy and sweet.
I thought these were onions at first.
They are very much wild figs. (lol)
Such beautiful and fresh green color! I love taking pictures of fig trees, but I don’t eat the fruits much.
My old tree was beautiful It is dead now and now I have trained the garlic vine on it. There is a post on that
I remember it, the garlic vine was gorgeous.
I like figs but I haven’t seen those red ones here.
These are wild figs and so not available in stores.
I have only ever tasted fig rolls that we can buy over here but not the wild variety
But nothing like what we get in the market specially the dried figs.
I am not familiar with figs at all.
Dried figs are quite known and they are available the world over.
