The ruthless tearing down of old structures is seen the world over. Somehow our family decided not to touch our ancestral home which is now over 80 years old.
This is where I grew up and that window that is seen was the girls’s room where we studied.
Father designed this home which has an area of around 2,500 sq. ft with several rooms. The land belonged to mother and he build this house for her.
We were a happy lot, quite proud that we had a big house. My niece with her family lives there now.

It’s really good that you all decided to preserve your ancestral home. It’s so nice to know the house where you grew up is still around and well. I grew up in my parents’ house which is just around 40 years old, and my parents are still staying there. My grandparents’ house is still around and my uncle is staying there now. But they have renovated the house, from wooden house to brick house now.
They have only changed the flooring. And some improvements but the facade and elevation is the same.

Beautiful. Our ancestral home is 150 years old and well preserved. it was taken care of by my uncle who passed on last year at the age of 95.
Now that your uncle is no more who will take care of it now?
Our ancestral home was sold in 2010. It pains me but I have no money to buy it.
We are lucky that one of our nieces decided to stay there with her family.
That is great to keep it preserved for so long.
