General Quiz for Fun and Learning

This quiz isn’t about any topic in specific but rather is quite general. In some cases, you may have heard the facts before. Whether you remember those facts or not is another matter entirely. That is what makes a quiz like this fun while also supplying the opportunity to learn.

At the very least, it is a great way to get your brain synapses firing. That is seldom a bad thing.

  1. Lots I didn’t know but now I do. I was happy to get that answer that feathers were heavier than gold which I just guessed because even stranger things are true.

  2. In #4 if both the feathers and the gold are a pound then they both weigh the same. Yet when I select Neither it says I am wrong. And in #2 the answer options have a yes and no when they shouldn’t even be there… But interesting quiz.

  3. I would need some explanations for a few of these answers, but there is one that I would query – are you sure about the Tasmanian snakes? Do you mean venomous as opposed to poisonous? If the former, their bite might kill you, if the latter, eating their flesh might do so.

  4. Well I failed miserably especially around the exports, the booze, the food and the elements, so again I repeat I failed miserably but what they hey, I still learned from it but whether I will remember it all remains a mystery to this writing ot the comment. I think I might just be going slowly senile but I am still enjoying all types of quizzes. So how is winter treating you Rex? Here, the last two days were so cold there was a warning of frost bite and not to let our pets go outside. Thanks for an interesting reading and guessing game.

    • It hasn’t been really cold recently… in the 20s. However, we have about 4 inches of snow on the ground, and it is crusted with freezing rain that we had night before last. A weather warning went up this morning for tonight. We’re supposed to get another 7 inches to a foot of snow. The mountain tops are getting snow already and the ski slopes in the state are all open and doing well.

      • Glad to hear that. Compared to here you are having a lot of snow with only a slight cold. We are also having a fair amount of snow but it started only about a week ago and then a really strong cold front, more snow in the next two days and then another milder cold front. We do not really know how to dress anymore, so we always have to consult the weather.

        • It looks like the jet stream is going to veer way north after this bunch of snowy/cold weather moves through, so we may have a day or two that gets to 40 next week or a little earlier. The snow level in the mountains is above normal for this time of year, though.
