Starting another series today about Word Origin.
I will start with ~ FRIDAY
Many interesting things I learned about Friday celebrations I was not aware of, while reasearching…
1. In astrology, Friday is connected with the planet Venus and is symbolized by that planet’s symbol ♀. Friday is also associated with the astrological signs Libra and Taurus.
2. In Christianity, Good Friday is the Friday before Easter. It commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus.
3. In Islam, Friday (from sun-down Thursday to sun-down Friday, simpler than midnight to midnight in a pre-clock age) corresponds as a holy day to Sunday in Christianity and Saturday (Friday evening to Saturday evening) in Judaism and Sabbatarian Christianity.
4. Jewish Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday and lasts until nightfall on Saturday. There is a Jewish custom to fast on the Friday of the week of Chukat.
5. In Thailand, the color associated with Friday is blue.
And of course Friday is the end of the work week for many out there.
A celebration in itself to look forward to the weekend.
Now you know some of the read of the story about Friday!

I didn’t know these things about Friday … even though I was born on a Friday!😀
I am learning so much while I research for these series.
my grandmother used to tell me that Friday was so named because it was the day they held fish fries!
Fish Friday. I had forgotten about that. We had that every Friday at the medical center I worked at.
all over Wisconsin, they have them on Friday nights!
That is a very good thing. Wish we could get fresh seafood here.
in Wisconsin it is Lake Michigan whitefish that is fried!
Very interesting facts about Friday!
I thought so, learning a lot lately. 🙂 Good to see you.
I am glad to know more facts about Friday. As for myself I was wondering about my love for the last day of the week and wanting to do things on the weekend. I was also wondering why I was not a morning person. Then mom explained it all to me. I was born on a Friday at 11 AM so not early morning but closer to noon. One of my lucky birth numbers is 13 so every Friday the 13th is supposed to be a very lucky day for me and finally, since I came into this world on a Friday I was ready to party on the weekend,
And there was so much more to hear but I stopped. Wow, so many Friday’s in your life.
Thinking of you.
That was a bunch of stuff I didn’t know about Friday! I am passionate about word origins 🙂
I read so much I was trying to pick and choose what to share, amazing when you just take a break and read. 🙂
You have great ideas. This is going to be another fantastic series.
Thanks, trying to find something others will enjoy.
