Here’s another neon sunset for Kim’s Color Crazy Challenge and for Sky Sunday (if you know, let me know who the author of this challenge is).
This picture was taken during the first week of the New Year. Winter sunsets are just so special, especially those in December and January. I have been wondering why and I came across this article. According to the sources quoted there, low humidity and clean air have a major role in the intensity of the colors of the winter sunsets. This contradicts the information I read before that humidity and pollution help create more beautiful sunsets. Now, beauty is really something subjective so for some people the hazy sunsets may be more appealing. I, personally, like everything that’s colorful, soft or crisp – it doesn’t matter.
I am putting a disclaimer here; I am not an expert in the area, just an avid sunset watcher and a reporter of what I have read.

Although I live in a place with a cold winter I very rarely see such a stunning sunset.
I am still trying to understand what creates the beautiful sunsets but it seems to be a combination of many factors.
I agree. I think you will find it hard to find the real cause.
We have hot and humid weather right now. Lovely sunset, I have seen several nice relaxing ones later.

I can relate to this, especially if I can take a photo.
ah if we are adding photos, then i miss many more than I get! i always forget to have the camera ready.
I am usually ready for a photo but I don’t always have a good view or there’s something in the way.
i struggle with that balancing act honestly.
1. to enjoy the moment, to let it sink in
2. to capture pictures.
I just can’t find the right balance.
For me taking pictures is part of the fun so I think I have found some balance, and then I have something to remind me of that moment.
when I am on vacation or doing something special, I take pictures. I don’t take pictures on my walks everyday I should!
I usually photograph every weed I see on my way, lol. But depending on who I am with, I may refrain from doing it.
if I slowed my dogs walk he would kill me!
