We named him Robo. Because of one of his ears being fully black, we got him at a concessional rate as he would not have passed the test at any contests for pedigree dogs. We were not worried about it and got him at whatever price he was offered to us. We did however get a certificate from the local Kennel Club.
Dalmatians are mild dogs and ideal as pets. There was no problem training him and he was very comfortable with Kittie our cat. They were friends.
We lost him a few years ago at the age of ten and a half to a wound on his leg that just would not go. That day we both took leave and spent time on the beach just watching the sea and the waves with nothing said. That was enough to feel each other’s loss.
We vouched however never more to go for large dogs as when they fall ill it is not easy to lift them around.

How beautiful! I have had both sizes. My cocker spaniel was my favorite.
He was the mildest of all our pets. Huge in size and huge in showing love.
At the pets we are very attach to and are part of our lives. Any loss is difficult.
We lost our last one eight months ago and I miss her a lot
I have had both large dogs and small ones. In the city we can have only small dogs due o space constraints. I prefer small lap dogs as they are don’t need so much exercise.
I agree with you. Large dogs do pose problems specially when they fall sick
We have work dogs that we enjoy.
Pets are a kind of therapy.
My Alec breed in Germany Zwergpinscher lived with us for 19 years.
You can imagine my sadness and crying when I called the vet to give him a sleeping pill.
We too have had pets that lived that way but that is not a long life and yes it is unbearable to see them go.
It’s always hard. I’ve lost three dogs.
Now I have a dog and a lad cat that loves to go out.
I am constantly afraid of being run over by a car.
We have had several pets over the years and we just lost our last one eight months ago.
That is the sad part with pets they live for a short period.
