Does this look like a feather to you, I thought so too and tried to take it off the plant and guess what it was moving. This I learned is the woolly aphid. These suck the sap of the plants and kill them.
I notice they had completely colonized one branch of this small plant and proceeded to paint the stem with soap water and oil solution. I did that a four times in the last two weeks and my plant is looking healthy again.
I also made sure that none of the other plants had this rather strange creature on them. Do you think this is wacky enough for Wednesday?

It looks more like a tail of an animal like a small donkey.
LOL that is so funny. Maybe a bunny would be closer .
I have seen this but never treated it before.
Hmm.. and your plants were fine?
A bug? It really looks like fluffy cotton.
That’s true, I thought it was a feather.
I have seen them several times. They look like fluffy cotton. I didn’t know they had the characteristics you had mentioned.
Remove them from the plant at once, they do cause a bit of a damage if left unattended.
Now, I’m informed about them.
Necessity they say is the mother of invention. I have no need yet as I have not seen these in the garden.
And also revelation, I would have just let them be as they are if I had not checked .
