I do not know what you want to call the generation of people who are now having children, and I fear for the well being of the children. Just because “you” feel entitled to have something doesn’t mean that it will magically appear or that the Universe, your parents, your neighbors or strangers will come carrying the things you feel entitled to have.
Take a few minutes today and make certain that you are teaching “personal” responsibility. Statements like, “You are able to do that yourself. Let me know how that works,”
“It’s time to clean your room. I will be back in 15 minutes to check it out.”
“Could you please set the table?”
“Please check your personal chores chart and make certain they are completed.”
Chores are not something you get paid for, it’s about learning to take care of yourself.

I’m entitled to be treated courteously and respectfully like a human being should be treated.
