Along the roads, specially on our long-distance road journey, we always came across ponds and lakes filled with lotus lilies. We see none of them today,
There was one at the start of our journey and that road used to be called Lotus Street. The Lilies that bloomed there were bright red and large in size In its place we now see a high rise building And that is the story everywhere – lakes, ponds and rice fields are displaced and in their place we see buildings.
A sad story indeed.
-
Do you have lotus ponds where you live?
-
Yes
-
No
-
Yes, I see this flower in our ponds.
We had a pond in our own garden but we saw a snake in there and so closed it
The lotus pond in the nearby park have just been blocked out for constructions…
not sure if they’ll keep it in the end …
That is what every country does. Concrete jungles are created.
Yeah, now nature are “added” and built.
We have no water lily here. I like her a lot, but unfortunately I have no photos of these charms.
We had them in our own garden but had to close the pond as we saw a reptile in there.
Sometimes this is the case here too, but this has changed a lot … you do not get a building permit at all if it is arable land or forests
That is very nice Wish they had that rule here as well.
Worse is some developers also covered creeks which are part of water ways. This results to flooding in the metropolis.
That happens everywhere. Mumbai is one city that has that problem.
In our country, the rice fields, the orchards and even the vegetable gardens are going out in favor of residential and commercial villages.
Looks like it is a global phenomenon
That is good to know Hope they will stay there longer.
Yes , we have lotus pond almost 7 Kilometer away from our location
