on the edge of the horizon
holding on to the top of the sky
as though letting go
would tumble
falling
until something solid
impeded its fall
and crushing
fingers
and toes.
Orb on the edge of the horizon
seeing all
hearing
nothing
as it hangs
fingers tense
to the edge of the sky.
Rising ever slowly
holding
and
never letting go
the orb
cruises
and stumbles
wishing it could fall.

While reading it, I picture a human standing on the edge of a cliff reaching out to a full moon ?. I am not quite familiar with Ezra Pound’s works so I cannot answer the poll queation.
He was a US poet in the 1920’s perhaps most famous for his poem The Red Wheelbarrow.
