winding in and of the slats
tied together
with earth and time
Lies half of the moon
stolen from
the sky at times
the thief
sneaking into the night sky
and carving a piece
of the moon
leaving only part visible
in the pale moonlight
until
the workers
launch their craft
and rebuild the moon
to its former glory.
Look
the moon is full
the excited child explains
no realizing
the one listening
is the one to steal
the full moons glory.
