Sharing a photo of my Sycamore tree in the backyard. I was on the deck looking over the privacy fence right before sunset and noticed the top half of the sycamore looked striking against the sky. Or at least in my mind it did. So I snapped some photos just as two blackbirds were flying away.
Sycamores also go by the names buttonwood or buttonball trees. This comes from the 1-inch balls that hang from the tree all winter and fall to the ground in spring. I love bark on the tree. It has a camouflage pattern and peels off in patches to reveal the light gray or white wood beneath. Older trees often have solid, light gray trunks.
I will post more photos later of the entire tree.

Such an interesting tree here. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks, I snapped it while on my deck, the lighting was amazing coming form the sun in the opposite direction!
The only place I’ve heard or read of the Sycamore tree was from the Bible. I didn’t know those trees still existed.
Yes it is mentioned in the bible. A very old tree. I love the one in my yard.
I do not think I’ve ever seen. The composition of wood, sun and birds is magnificent
Thanks, these trees have been around forever. The birds were a bonus.
It’s lovely and have that nice golden colour!
Fantastic composition, Carol!!
Thanks it was the sun reflecting making it look golden. I will post a photo soon of the entire tree.
Sure, it’ll be really interesting 🙂
I think I have not seen this tree yet. It looks stunning in this light.
It really caught my eye as the sun reflecting on the tree made it look golden.
Impressive photography,
I’ve never seen this tree in my country, maybe it’s in a botanical garden just need to visit!
Thanks, I loved the lighting. I will show the entire tree soon. 🙂
I do not know him on the picture … after the visit, he could be a platinum … we have platana in autumn hanging beads
I will post more later, it just looked cool with the lighting in this photo I thought.
