Gompers Park, Chicago, Illinois

Panasonic DMC-FZ50

Gompers Park is located at Foster & Pulaski in the North Mayfair neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

Editing was done on the JPG using Luminar Flex 1.1. I used the Develop filter to adjust the color temperature to make it slightly warmer, increase the contrast and clarity and open up the shadows a bit. Next I added the Accent AI filter and used the Polarizing filter to minimize the reflection from the leaves.

When I took the photo the leaves had not started to change yet but I wanted an autumn look to the image so I added an adjustment layer and used the HSL filter and the Golden Hour filters to do this. On the HSL filter I selected the Hue tab and moved the green, red and yellow sliders all the way to the left. Then I selected the Saturation tab and moved increased the saturation of those colors.

Lastly I added the Orton filter (Type #1) about a third of the way up.

  1. I love the look of that park. Here where I live now there is one interesting park the Oceanside Park from which you can see the Atlantic Ocean and the beach. When I lived in Riga, Latvia I loved that there were parks most everywhere and you could roam them all day if you wished
