Some art gallery wants environmental studies of the Tamaki Estuary. This is a huge area and hopefully I can do this as a study for my own interests in nature.
On Bucklands Beach there were 3 oystercatchers making high pitched sounds and opening their beaks like a bird ritual, so I took several photos. This is one of them drawn with mixed media and abstracted background.
Mixed media, is, pen & ink, coloured pencils, pencil, and coloured watercolour ink.
Hopefully will be able to do more drawings of any natural environment close to home.
Incredible talent you have and such creativity.
Thanks so much Carol glad you like it.
That is amazing pam. The oystercathers look really cool. I assume they have long beaks to pry the oyster open?
I am not sure about everything they eat but I think you are right. Will check later. Thanks for your comments Doc.
happy to converse on interesting birds, art or anything else you want to hare Pam!
Thanks Doc our conversations are always interesting and informative.
you are most welcome, and I would say ditto I’ve enjoyed them for years!
I am no art critic but looking at it I see something cheerful!!
Yes, one of the reasons why I love birds! Thanks Grace.
