Saturday Critters – The cat with bell collar!

Many cat owners choose to put a bell collar at the neck of cats. Have you wondered why they are doing this? Well! It is assumed that cats are responsible for the deaths of many garden birds like the house sparrow and robin.

Attaching a bell to a cat’s collar can warn birds of its approach and so birds can defend themselves. The problem is that cats are smart animals and they have learning to walk without ringing this little bell!

What can we learn from here? We need to adapt to the changes of our life!

But are we able to adapt to the changes in our lives?

  1. Thank you for the information. My son put a bell collar around Pitou’s neck but I don’t know the meaning so I asked him. He told me for it’s for identity just in case the cat gets lost. Well, the cat never goes out of the house.

  2. You are right about the bell, and I often see it many years ago in childhood, but now it’s no longer around me. Maybe because birds have rarely flown low in my place lately.

Adaptation is a keyword because changes are continuous and faster. Failing to adapt means failing life, isn’t it, philosopher?

  3. Great capture!
I didn’t know why owners put bells on cat! I thought its just for looking good :p
and WOW cats can walk without sounding the bell!!

I guess, we aren’t as adaptive as them …
