Rose petals jam (Gulkand)

In India it is known as Gulkand.  This jam is easy to make. The recommended rose is Damascus rose

The petals are gently removed and washed.  They are weighed and equal quantity of sugar is used. The petals are packed in a clean glass bottle layer by layer.  Each layer of petals will have a layer of sugar. 

The bottle is then kept in the sun for ten days  Jame is ready for use. 

It is kept in the refrigerator and the jam remains fresh for six months.
