Pine tree or fir is not common here and whenever I see one it reminds me of Christmas. There was a time that we bought a real branch of fir tree that was very expensive. The scent that it emitted inside our home was wonderful. Unfortunately it is not legal anymore to sell such Christmas tree.

We have two Christmas trees in our garden. Pine trees are different and yes they smell good. When I was in the US holidaying my niece took me to a park where there were several of these trees with cones. We picked a few and I still have them with me.
I love the smell of pines too.
